Artist Statement
Describing my artistic tendencies and body of work as a whole is absolutely terrifying. It would feel like a commitment or a promise I wouldn’t be able to keep. My work varies in medium and procedure. Through metalsmithing, jewelry design, painting, and sometimes other media, I draw inspiration from situations I am experiencing in the moment. From my emotions to the environment around me, I accept the experience life has to offer and try to express that through my work. Sometimes I approach a project with a clear vision and motivated plan, other times I feel so uninspired it morphs into something completely unexpected, that originated with an unknown but welcome destination. Those are my favorite moments, both in art and life. When all the energy from my stress, love, insecurities, celebrations, losses, all come together in a newway, a better way.
